In less than a decade we'll be surrounded by intelligent machines. How will they transact?
My family now agrees that in 9 of 10 scenarios, my Cybertruck drives better than me. It may get confused in seemingly simple situations, like a slow lane merge, but it’s definitely better at keeping my passengers from getting car sick. I feel safe knowing it has 360 vision and perfect clarity of thought as it takes on complex maneuvers, which is night and day from a year ago in my Model Y.
I think a lot about the progress we’ve seen in autonomous cars as of late. It’s clear we’re hitting the hockey stick of progress, and I still don’t think people are ready for how quickly the world will transform around them.
It’s possible that DePIN-style networks could help accelerate rollout of products like the Cybercab. Fleet owners who compete on different value propositions like cleanliness and amenities, might supercharge their growth by sharing value with their early backers, building onchain loyalty programs for their best users, and building collectives around territories.
It would be interesting to see how these dynamics translate to humanoid robots, as well.
