Uncovering New Behaviors with Physics
Increase bandwidth, reduce latency, unlock users, discover how humans coordinate
I came across this quote from Richard Feynman, the award-winning physicist who didn’t care for awards.
It reminds me of why we work to increase bandwidth, and reduce latency in Solana. The goal is to uncover new user behaviors unlocked by performance, in the same way that broadband internet uncovered behaviors in user-generated content, video and audio streaming, and social networking that surprised the world.
This curiosity and eagerness to learn about the truth of humanity is a common thread in all the great people that Toly and I have hired. It seems intrinsic to the culture of Solana. If this aspect of Feynman’s mind has some place in Solana’s DNA, I’d be okay with that.
